Bad banks part one

A very decent client of mine has recently restructured their business after many years of success. They needed a new bank account for the new business which was taking on established contracts totally around £1.4m per annum

They spoke to their existing bank and submitted all the details. After prolonged silence they called and asked how long would it take. The answer was (exact words)

“As long as it takes”

Having then stressed that a bank account was immediately essential for a business of this size my client, with some exasperation, asked whether the fact that they had banked with them for 9 years mean anything at all

My client immediately switched accounts to a high profile new player in the market. Im sure you can guess who.No wonder that particular bank are sweeping up the market
